Legal awareness programme continues

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West has been organizing weekly Radio and TV awareness programmes in collaboration with Radio Loktak 90.4 FM, Radio Nongin 90.8 FM community radio stations and ISCOM, a leading TV program, where a resource person is nominated by the office would deliver a talk on a chosen theme/topic in an interactive manner with the host of the programme.
Some of the topics include 'Rights and Issues of Transgender Persons with special focus on COVID-19 pandemic in terms of difficulties faced by them in different aspects such as availing healthcare facilities and other socio-economic and legal services from the State', 'Ways and means to alleviate the problems faced by the transgender community', 'Common Problems reported by senior citizens especially during the COVID-19 pandemic', 'Mechanism of functioning of the National Helpline for Senior Citizens (NHSC) ELDERLINE 14567 under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India', 'Facilities and Services that can be availed through the helpline', Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, National Food Security Act, Right to education and National Education Policies, Mob Lynching and Law, Mob Justice or Injustice, Right to Education, Various Certificates issued online by DC, Imphal West Office, MGNREGA, Crime by and against Children, Buying and Selling of Landed Property in Manipur, Freedom of Expression and Social Media, ADR Mechanism and Lok Adalat etc, said a press release issued by DLSA, Imphal West.
District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West expressed belief that this is one of the most effective ways of imparting awareness regarding “Equal Justice and Free Legal Aid” and will continue doing the same in the future. Accordingly, as a part of the ongoing series of programmes, a legal awareness programme on the topic “Role of Child Care Institutions” will be telecasted November 3 (today) at 5pm on Radio Nongin.
