TPR dips below 2 pc for third straight day

IMPHAL, Nov 27 : The single day Covid positivity rate of Manipur slid below 2 per cent for three successive days with 1.2 per cent registered on Saturday.
The positivity rate updated on Thursday and Friday were 1.4 percent and 1.9 percent respectively.
In the last 24 hours, at least 19 persons  (8 males and 11 females) were confirmed as new Covid cases from RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (16) from among 1,522 samples tested in the past 24 hours, according to the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The positive cases are from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (11) and Churachandpur (1).
Notably, all the three districts too reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent  with the highest being Imphal East at 2.4 percent.
The period also witnessed two Covid deaths - one each from Imphal West  and Thoubal. With this, the death toll has  climbed to 1,970. Both the deceased had not taken any dose of Covid vaccine.
Today, at least 18 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (1), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (13).
The number of active cases and the recovery rate stand at 673 and 97.89 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, the State distributed 382 D -type and 72 B-type oxygen cylinders yesterday. At least 5,032 Covid vaccine doses were also administered on the same  day.
On vaccination, the State has fully vaccinated 36.59 per cent of its total population  while anoher 54.51 percent has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine.
