Laishram Julet, Chingakham Kirankumar emerge champions in State Level Boxing Championship

IMPHAL, Nov 27 : Laishram Julet of Thoubal and  Chingakham Kirankumar of Imphal East cruised to elite men's 54 kg and 67 kg category titles in the State Level Boxing Championship organised by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
L Julet defeated Nongthombam Amarjit of Bishnupur for the top honour while Ch Kirankumar overwhelmed Gourdutta Khaidem of Imphal West 5-0.
Youth Men
Boychard Baite of Kangpokpi and Thongam Leninson of Imphal West were also crowned the champions of youth men's 57 kg and 60 kg categories.
Boychard beat Churachandpur's Chungnei-reng M Kom in the final bout today before Leninson got the better of Pebam Suranjoy of Bishnupur in the 60 kg title bout.
Junior Girls
Elangbam Thoicha of Thoubal laid her hands on the junior girls 46 kg category title beating L Phonia Devi of Imphal East in the final today.
Thoudam Prameshori of Imphal West on the other hand claimed junior girls 52 kg category title beating Huidrom Karuna Devi of Thoubal 4-1 in the final bout today.
Junior Boys
Tompok Thokchom of Thoubal earned the junior boys' 50 kg category title as he downed Md Miraj of Kakching 4-1 today before Khomdram Bikash Singh of Bishnupur carved out a 3-2 win over Leichombam Lamnganba Mangang of Imphal West for the 54 kg category title.
Sub-Junior Boys
Mutum Nikison of Imphal East, Ngamba Longjam of Imphal West and Chingangbam Agu of Imphal West also pocketted sub-junior boys' 46 kg, 52 kg and 43 kg category titles beating their respective rivals.
In the 46 kg category final, Mutum Nikison thumped Nandeibam Babychand of Imphal West 4-1 before Ngamba Longjam edged Bishnupur's Angom Ronaldo 3-2 and Ch Agu eased to 5-0 win over Khaidem Sanatomba of Kakching.
