Challenges and opportunities of State's economy discussed

A two day discourse on the present status of Manipur Economy- Challenges and Opportunities began today at Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Lamphelpat. The discourse has been organised by Economic and Resource Development Organization (ERDO)- Kangleipak
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Professor E Bijoykumar Singh, Head, CSSEIP; Dr Chinglen Meisnam, Economic Department MU; L Dijamani, Retd General Manager DIC OSD axim and Border Trade ; Prof Y Chakrabarty, Dept of Agriculture Economics, CAU; Dr Meitram Uttam Luwang, SBI Branch Manager, Ukhrul; P Loken, Chairman, MIDC; Pradip Phanjoubam, Senior Journalist, advisor ERDO, Naorem Iboton Singh, Retd Dean, CAU; Retd IFS Mohendra Pratap Singh; Retd Joint Director M S Khaidem and president, ERDO –Kangleipak T Sanajaoba as the presidium members, said a press release issued by ERDO Kangleipak.
In today's programme, the subject experts stressed on various topics in connection with the upliftment of State's economy by identifying the loopholes and to initiate measures to resolve such issues like underdeveloped household economy of Manipur, to assess the sectors worst hit by COVID-19 pandemic, to identify causes of economic blind spots, to initiate 5 years banking policy for public accountable saving etc
Further the subject experts resolved to organise a public discourse inorder to form a Pre Budget Drafting Committee to send recommendations in  the State Budget and policies in the upcoming Financial Year.
