KANGPOKPI, Nov 27: Kuki Sporting Club emerged champions of the 8th K Hangshing Memorial Sadar Hills Super Division Football League after all points of Football For Change who posted 3 wins and a 1 draw in the tournament were forfeited for breaching rules.
The Kuki Sporting Club had defeated Kangpokpi Youth Union, FC Zalen, and Saikotjang Youth Club to amass nine points while losing a match to Football For Change.
Meanwhile, Football Club Zalen who had secured six points from two wins were also awarded another three points for the match they had played with Football For Change and eventually declared runners-up of the league tournament.
According to the Sadar Hills District Sports Association (organizing committee), complaints pertaining to eligibility of Reuben Letkhotinchon (CRS No PL0000079102 of Football For Change), Lenminlun Doungel (CRS No PL0000042854) and Solomon Hmangte (CRS No PL0000078015) of KSC were received and thoroughly examined based on the existing rules/procedures of transfer/registration of players of the All Manipur Football Association.
It continued that after a thorough examination of the documents of the players concerned and due verification by AMFA, the executive meeting resolved to forfeit the result of the three matches of Football For Change as player Reuben Letkhotinchon was found to not have completed transfer and registration procedures even though a No Objection Certificate (NOC), which is one of the eligibility criteria for participating in the League, was produced after the match on November 25 issued by Odisha FC the same day.
