Ningol Chakkouba greetings

IMPHAL, Nov 4: Numerous civil organisations have wished the people, particularly the womenfolk ahead of Ningol Chakkouba which falls on November 6.
United Committee Manipur (UCM) and All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) conveyed their warm greetings to the women of the State and beyond and spoke out against the current trend of focusing on the competition around gifts. Further, UCM prayed for the festival to bring prosperity, harmony and  peace. AMSU also expressed their wish for the festival to foster the bonds of love between different ethnic groups.
Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) and All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) too joined in conveying their Ningol Chakkouba greetings. HERICOUN further urged the people to preserve the tradition of the festival without diverting focus to its materialistic aspects.
