IMPHAL, Dec 11 : B Prem Sharma, Advocate at Manipur High Court, has claimed  that there is misappropriation  in distribution of subsidised rice to the beneficiaries at Keirak.
In a statement, the Advocate claimed that about 12 beneficiaries went to the house of one Thoudam Suraj Meitei, who is an FPS agent of Keirak Ward no 4 and 5, to take two months worth of rice on May 26, 2021.
There, the father of the agent Thoudam  Ibocha told the beneficiaries that they would only get 6 kg of rice, the Advocate  claimed and added that the 12 individuals  pleaded with the agent's father to give the quantity of rice allocated for them as no markets were opened due to COVID-19.
Claiming that the agent's father asked the beneficiaries to complain wherever they want, the Advocate continued that the beneficiaries then lodged a complaint to the High Court of Manipur, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), district DC, ADC, DSO and SP on May 28 last.
Following this, Member Secretary of MASLSA directed the DLSA, Thoubal to  look into the matter, he said and claimed that the ADC and KSO didn't submit its  Action Taken Report despite the repeated instruction from DLSA Thoubal on June 3 and 17.
Continuing that the Deputy Member Secretary of MASLSA Imphal urged the Kakching DC to take action, the Advocate   then said that the  12 complaints filed a petition to the High Court on July 20, 2021 they were not satisfied with the proceeding of the case.
