Union MoS Pratima Bhoumik hails Manipuri women

MOIRANG, Dec 12 : Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik has cate-gorically stated that the role of Manipuri women in the socio-economic and cultural life of Manipur is significant.
Addressing the 82nd Nupi Lan Day at Moirang Bazar, the Union MoS maintained that the women of Manipur didn't shy away even in confronting the mighty British to save their rights and keep peace in the State.
The function was organised by BJP Mahila Morcha Moirang Mandal.
Saying that crime, curfew, corruption and encoun- ter will vanish once the Congress is abolished, Pra-tima Bhoumik added that re-installing the BJP Government will ensure peace, stability and development in the State.
Reiterating that the wo-men of Manipur are quite influential and the same has been proven on many occasions, the Union MoS stated that the BJP Government has also launched many schemes to further empower the women community.
Empowering women financially  is also crucial to build a better society, she said and urged the women of Manipur to contribute in restoring peace by voting BJP to power in the 12th State Assembly election.
During the function, floral tributes were paid to the photo of Mairembam (O) Ibemhal Devi, wife of former Chief Minister M Koireng Singh.
Simple gifts were also presented to international badminton player K Priya, State level badminton player M Devika, mixed martial artist Jojo Rajkumari and 11 senior vendors of  Moirang Ima Keithel.
Moirang AC MLA P Sharatchandra, BJP Manipur Pradesh secretary L Deben Singh, BJP Bishnupur president RK Bimola  and BJP Mahila Morcha Moirang Mandal vice president M Shantibala also attended the programme.
