Over 700 turn up at dental camp hosted by TSE, IDA

Imphal, Dec 19: The Sangai Express and Indian Dental Association (IDA), Manipur State Branch jointly conducted a one day free mega dental camp at Thouda Bhabok Leikai under Kei-shamthong Assembly Cons- tituency.
The camp was held as a part of the 21st Manipur State Dental Conference.
At the occasion, owner of The Sangai Express Nishikant Singh Sapam, who is preparing to contest the 12th State Assembly election from Keishamthong AC, thanked the doctors of IDA, Manipur Branch and others who made the dental camp a success.
Organizing such a free mega dental camp will not be possible without the help of IDA, Manipur and the volunteers, specially Team Nishikant  who extended moral as well as physical support, he maintained.
Saying that there is lack of appropriate oral health awareness among the people in Manipur, Nishikant urged the people to take good care of their oral health so as to prevent loss of teeth and other complications.
Nishikant Singh also extended gratitude to Lamyanba Ambulance Service for  providing free ambulance service throughout the camp.
The noble gesture shown by Lamyanba Ambulance Service when the charge  of ambulance services has become extremely expensive deserves utmost appreciation, he added.  
IDA, Manipur State Branch president Dr T Nabachandra stated that pediatric teeth extraction, oral cancer screening and cavity filling were the main features of today's camp.
About 773 people were treated by 44 doctors and six nurses and paramedical staff during the camp while some were referred to JNIMS, RIMS and other  health care units, Dr T Nabachandra said and added that medicines were also provided to patients who require medication at free of cost.
The doctor also stated that he never expected such a large number of people to turn up for the camp.
He said that the dental camp held today was the biggest in the history of IDA, Manipur Branch in terms of the number of people who came out for dental check-up and other ailments.
