IMPHAL, Dec 22 : Senior Citizen Forum, Heirok has urged the State Government to probe the firing incident at Heirok that killed one student so as to prevent a possible civil war in the Assembly Constituency.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, forum convenor Moirangthem Rajmohon continued that over 10 houses were also damaged in the violence while many CCTVs and vehicles have been  damaged.
Claiming that several rounds were fired in the violence, Rajmohon claimed that such savagery is depicting Manipur as a hollow and lawless State where democracy has no meaning.
Reminding that a memorandum with a deadline of  December 15 has already been submitted to the Chief Minister, Governor, Chief Election Commissioner, Thoubal DC and SP to investigate the atrocity meted out by people donning black dresses in Heirok on December 4 last, he claimed that no tangible response has been given by the Government till date.
Claiming that fear and apprehension now grip the people of Heirok with certain people taking shelter elsewhere, he urged the CSOs of the State to look into the matter.
Another memorandum will be submitted to the Governor, Chief Minister, DC and Thoubal SP, he added.
