National Consumers Day greeting

Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Minister of Manipur, Th Satyabrata Singh has conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion of National Consumer Day which falls on December 24.
He stated that the significance of National Consumer Day is to make the public aware of the rights and power of consumers and customers and in turn enforce them. Its aim is to save consumers from market exploitation like different pricing, food adulteration and getting defective products, he added.
As Minister of the department concerned, he stated that the aim is to provide quality goods free from adulteration to the consumers. Further, he conveyed the need to ensure that consumer rights are protected and food safety measures are undertaken in public interest.
Th Satyabrata added that the department is trying its best to alleviate hardships faced by the people in procuring rice under NFSA and PMGKAY-III schemes.
