Khashim Vashum launches UDBA

Ukhrul, Dec 23: 45-Chingai AC MLA, Khashim Vashum on Thursday launched Ukhrul District Basketball Association (UDBA) by unfurling UDBA flag in the presence of prominent sporting personalities, CSO leaders and party workers at Meiphung Production Conference Hall Hamleikhong Hungpung, Ukhrul.
Speaking on the occasion, Vashum stressed on the need to create a platform for youths to display their sporting talents.
He stated that it is essential to identify their skills and groom them from an early age to make them compete at various arenas.
Vashum also called the day historic for Basketball lovers of Ukhrul as it marked a new era for development of Basketball.
President of UDBA, NS Franky stated that the main objective of constituting the UDBA was to encourage and motivate local youths interested in basketball and nurture their skills & talents to make them compete in various arenas.
