Christmas greetings pour in

IMPHAL, Dec 23 : Chief Minister N Biren Singh has extended his greetings to the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Christmas, which falls on December 25.
The CM called for people to emulate Jesus Christ's eternal message of love and forgiveness by extending a helping hand to everyone, forgetting ill-will and misgivings and forgiving one's enemy.
He also prayed for this festival to usher in an era of peace, harmony and prosperity into the State.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president N Loken Singh and Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) have also conveyed their heartfelt wishes to the people of the State, especially to the Christian community on the joyful occasion of Christmas.
With the arrival of Christmas, N Loken Singh hoped for people to co-exist in harmony along with strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between communities.
MSC/CPI cautioned the people to celebrate the festival while diligently following the SOPs laid down by the authorities in view of the pandemic.
The All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) has greeted the people of Manipur on the eve of Christmas. In its greeting, the apex Christian organization of the State appealed to all right thinking citizens, especially the Christian brethren to commemorate Christian in its true essence and take no political advantage of this holy event.
The AMCO appealed to all Christians not to indulge in any activities that will rob the sanctity and spirit of Christ and uphold the Christmas principals at all times.
"It is our appeal to all parties and candidates not to conduct election campaigns during the holy season of Christmas and New Year," it said and prayed that the 12th Manipur Assembly election be conducted in a peaceful and democratic manner.
