BJP OBC Morcha protests

IMPHAL, Dec 23: Members of BJP Manipur Pradesh OBC Morcha staged a protest demonstration at their Nityaipat Chuthek office against the killing of Kerala OBC Morcha secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan allegedly by around 12 men of SDPI on December 19 at his own home.
 The protest demonstration was led by BJP National OBC Morcha invitee S Liben and BJP Manipur Pradesh OBC Morcha president RK Nongdrenkhomba.
Speaking to the media by the sideline of the protest demonstration, S Liben said that the brutal murder of Kerala OBC Morcha secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan smacked of political conspiracy.
He also condemned the killing of a student and injuring of another at Heirok in a firing incident which seemed to be connected to the forthcoming election.
Such violent incidents not only paint the country’s democracy in a bad light but also prove to be a serious setback to all those who have been endeavouring to bring a new India and a new Manipur, S Liben said.
He said that violence cannot bring any change or reformation.
The gathering also observed two minutes’ silence and prayed that the departed souls rest in peace.
Later, the protesters submitted a memorandum to Governor La Ganesan.
