Letting go of a friendship doesn’t mean
It wasn’t beautiful or worthy.
We spoke, uttered clouds of words
That were barely understandable , muffled at times.
Apparently , it was time that played its part.
With years, came adulthood,
And words from ripe lungs straight onto our faces.
Like something happened or even nothing happened at all.
Whatever it was,it caused the friendship to fade.
A friendship that turned into acquaintance
and ultimately into strangers.
Diverging their path without an apology,
Clattering like bad toys,
Away without a word or gesture.
The tulip of friendship swayed
Until it left fondful memories deep into the bones.
