IMPHAL, Dec 5: The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNC-M), apex organisation of Liangmai community in Manipur, has extended its heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh for his love and support rendered to the Liangmai Naga community by declaring Chaga Ngee as a restricted State holiday on October 30.
The Liangmai body also thanked Awangbou Newmai, Minister of Forest and Environment, Climate Change and Sericulture for his relentless efforts in ensuring Chaga Ngee was recognised as a restricted holiday in Manipur.
"That, on October 30, of every year the Liangmai tribe celebrates Chaga Ngee as one of the biggest festivals," said LNC while adding, "it is a festival of purification or sanctification and rededication of life to God".
"Under the able and visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, the state has notably improved and peace has now been restored, thus ensuring a true democratic system in the State," it asserted.
