AAMSU Day

IMPHAL, Feb 9 : The 43rd Foundation Day of All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) was held today at Gandhi Bhavan, Park Road, Silchar.
The programme was attended by Laishram Athou- ba Meitei, president, All Manipur Students Union; Mutum Reena, chairperson, Manipuri Development Council; Pangabam Nilkanta Khuman, president, AAMSU; Ksh Jiten, vice chairman, Manipuri Development Council; Khumujam Dhiren, general secretary, Assam Manipuri Sahitya Parishad; Sanathoi Singha, president, All Assam Manipuri Meira Paibi Apunba Lup and Longjam Babasana, managing director, Ima Emoinu Pvt ltd as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Laishram Athouba Meitei said starting a new campaign before the previous campaign has completed or achieved its demand brings confusion. He added the demand for 'Autonomous District Council' before the previous demand of including Manipuri language in the list of  official associate language list of Assam has been achieved brings a sense of puzzlement amongst all and urged all to unite in pressing for any demand and also assured full support from AMSU.
Laishram Athouba also said it was really disheartening to see that the youth who are going to be the future pillars of the society are wasting their valuable time and energy on mobile phones and drug abuse. He expressed faith that AAMSU will organise an awareness programme in the near future to save the youth.
A souvenir was also published at the programme and the event concluded with a cultural programme.
