Uripok shutdown announced

Uripok area will be shut down from 5 am to 6pm on February 23.
Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL) said this in a statement issued today regarding the defamation case against the president of UAL by some members of All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA).
Some members of AMBA had continued the construction of vendor sheds in the footpath in front of Cheirap court complex against the objection made by UAL, alleged UAL in the statement.
The defamation case was filed against the president of UAL after the association released statements condemning the act of construction of vendor sheds in the area in local newspapers, said the statement.
UAL warned that if the charges against its president were not withdrawn, the association will resort to various forms of agitation.
