SENAPATI, FEB 20: Southern Tahamzam Naga Council (STNC) have endorsed the bandh called by Joint Action Committee for Protection of Liangmai Ancestral Land (JACPLAL) along the IT Road from the midnight of February 20.
It may be mentioned that JACPLAL had announced on February 19 for the imposition of "indefinite total chakka bandh" along the IT Road stating that the democratic agitation was initiated as the Kangpokpi district administration have failed to withdraw  the 144 CrPC imposed at Thonglang Atongba since January 19, 2021 without any valid reason.
Declaring its support to JACPLAL, STNC said, "It is seriously observing the matter and will extend every support till the 144 CrPC is revoked from Thonglang jurisdiction".
STNC also sought clarification from the Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi regarding the term "disputed land" used in the prohibitory order.
