Imphal, Feb 21: Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM) president Th Ajit has appealed to all the people of Manipur to be aware of the many welfare schemes launched by the Government and raise their voice as one whenever they are deprived of their rights irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
Addressing an awareness campaign “Know Your Schemes” at Keihao village in Kangpokpi district, Ajit said that the State as well as the Central Government have been implementing many schemes to ensure equality among all the citizens.
However, several deserving candidates in both the hill and valley districts of Manipur are still not enjoying the benefits of Government welfare schemes  mostly due to lack of awareness, he said and added that there would be no point in launching many welfare schemes if the intended people are left behind.
Ajit further appealed to the people of Manipur to be vigilant and check whether the welfare schemes are implemented transparently in the State.
IFM general secretary Kh Gopen Luwang, meanwhile, said that the Government implemented about 150  welfare schemes in the State and spoke in detail about PMRKVY, MIDH, SMAM, CMHT and PMJAY.
Saying that decentralising implementation of Government schemes is imperative to reach out to the people more effectively, Gopen continued that the IFM will make public names of all officials who avoid going to remote places.  Later, nominee of Rajya Sabha MP (Valley) Saratchandra Thokchom distributed PMJAY cards to beneficiaries.
