IMPHAL, Feb 5 :  Responding to the ‘charges’ levelled by the Kabui Union Manipur, the Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak Phom (TRCP), Assam, Manipur and Nagaland has stated that they never  deceived nor misled the Government of Manipur nor tried to distort the beliefs and traditions of the Kabuis.
In a statement, Chaoba Kamson, general secretary TRCP/AMN  said that they also never claimed that Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu fought for some specific groups and not for the freedom of Manipur and that the Kabui Union should  not celebrate the Gaan-Ngai festival at the village level.
Chaoba maintained that Kabui and Rongmei have the same origin, language, culture, tradition, costume, practices etc.
Saying that TRPC/AMN was formed unanimously on April 16, 1994 at Imphal in a 'big religious convention' attended by 1500 delegates from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, Chaoba added that the convention resolved to christen the religion of Kabui/Rongmei  as Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak.
After the formation of the Common Religious Organization, the TRPC/AMN had constructed 25 temples in these three States and other 8 will be constructed shortly to promote Kabui religion, literature, culture, tradition and practices, he said and asked where  the question of wiping out Kabuis from the land of Manipur arises as claimed by Kabui Union Manipur (KUM) which was formed in 2018.
"Nobody knows what KUM had done for the Kabuis," he asserted.
