House condoles Covid victims

IMPHAL, Feb 4: During the Budget Session today, the State Assembly Members observed a one  minute silence as a mark of respect to those who have died of COVID-19 and shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family members. Notably, the disease has claimed 372 lives in the State till today. The last death, a 47-year-old from Chandel, was reported  by the Government COVID-19 Common Control Room yesterday.
As reported by the Control Room today, the State has 113 active cases and 28,614 patients have recovered from the disease. The total number of cumulative cases has reached 29,099.
It may be noted that the State had its first case of coronavirus when a 23-year-old UK returnee tested positive on March 24 last.
The first death in Manipur was a 56-year-old man from Thoubal district. He died at RIMS on July 29.
