31st State Thang-Ta C'shi

IMPHAL, Feb 7 : The 31st edition of State Thang-Ta Championship organised by Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur was formally opened today at Thang-Ta Shanglen, Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal West.
The inaugural function of the tournament was attended by Th Tomba Singh, Deputy Director, Youth Affairs and Sports; Huidrom Premkumar Singh, president, Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur and Yumnam Amumacha Singh, Kala Bhusan Awardee and Sintakpurel of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta Academy, Wabagai.
810 male and female thang-ta players from 42 Thang-Ta institutes across the State including (including institutes from Ukhrul and Jiribam) will be competing in "Phunaba and Kanglon Chatpa" events.
The opening day saw junior boys and girls of various weight categories competing in Phunaba events.
N Chetan of NLPTLK, Mayang Imphal won the gold medal in the phunaba anisuba event for U-44 kg category as N Gemson of Patsoi Thang-Ta Academy and Jill Dominic Khapei of Ukhrul District Thang-Ta Association settled with the silver and bronze medal.
Abujam Lanchenba Singh (U-48 kg) of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta, Moidangpok; Langonba Oinam (U-25 kg) of NEEHA, Moirang; M Thoisana Singh (U-56) of Universal Thang Ta Academy, Wangoo and Sh Pritam (U-80 kg) of Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom also earned gold medal in phunaba anisuba events of their respective weight categories.
Th Chinglensana of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta Academy, Pallel also earned a gold for his unit in the U-44 phunaba ama event today as Thongam Kash of Malem Apunba Thang-Ta Maheikol and Laishram Ashamani of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy Khurai finish second and third respectively to win silver and the bronze medals.
M Trinabarta Sharma (U-48 kg) of Indigenous-Manipur Martial Art Academy, H Rajkanta Meitei (U-52 kg) of Eastern Kala Vidya Thang-Ta, Nongmeibung; Muskan Chingangbam (U-56 kg) of Kangleipak Royal Thang-Ta, Sagolband; M Arbin (U-60 kg) of Keibi Thang-Ta Academy; S Henba (U-65 kg) of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta Moidangpok; Padam Moirangthem (U-70 kg) of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Khurai Sajor; Leishemba Yengkhomcha (U-75 kg) of PAHULASI,, Mayaikoibi and E Sunson Singh (U-80 kg) of PAHULASI bagged gold medals in phunaba ama events of their respective weight categories.
Winning gold medals in the phunaba ama events for junior girls conducted today are Achom Dhanapati Devi (U-40 kg) of Meitei Nongsha Lallong TTCA, Heikrujam; Soram Velena (U-44 kg) of Kanglei Thang-Ta Sindamsang, Maklang; Heikham Bidyapati (U-48 kg) of Eastern Kla Vidya Thang-Ta, Nongmeibung; Y Pinky (U-52 kg) of Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom; kh Priyangka (U-56 kg) of ANJIKA, Samurou; S Priyangka (U-60) Eastern Kala Vidya Thang-Ta, Nongmeibung; L Shelly (U-65) of ANJIKA; Gayatri Kangujam (U-70 kg) of Manipur Thang-Ta Cult, Khongman and Ingalsana Tharoijam (U-75 kg) of PAHULASI.
