Dingku wary of Manipur's

IMPHAL, Mar 13 : Manipur, which has been regarded as the Sports' Powerhouse of India, is witnessing a decline in the sporting prowess in the recent years.
It was the remark former Asian Games boxing gold medalist, Ngangom Dingku made while speaking to a team of INS Hamla Sports Team comprising of M Suranjoy Singh, CWG 2010 Gold medalist, Arjuna Award recipient and chief coach of Navy Boxing team; Olympian, AL Lakra; BL Bayaskar, chief coach of Navy Gymnastics team and National team coach; AK Samantaray, coach Navy Gymnastics team; Rana Mohoria, assistant coach of Navy Boxing team and international boxer M Thomas.
The team was here in Imphal to meet and enquire the health of the former star boxer, Ng Dingku, who is currently fighting cancer.
The ailing boxing coach at SAI-NERC Imphal, Dingku expressed delight over the visit of the team consisting of his old acquaintances in Indian Navy. He also encouraged his old colleagues who are now coaches to keep up the good works in guiding the younger players.
He expressed rue over his inabilities to serve fully after returning to Manipur owing to his health conditions. Regretful of past mistakes, he also stressed on the need to forget things which are bygones and to amend and move on for a better future.
The visiting team also prayed for his speedy recovery and wished him to achieve his earnest desire to guide young boxers and serve the State soon.
