Annual conference of Manipur Oncology Society begins

IMPHAL, Mar 20: The 4th Annual Conference of Manipur Oncology Society, MOSCON 2021 began today at Sangai Hall of Hotel Imphal.
The inaugural programme was graced by Dr N Bijoy Singh, former director of RIMS, Dr Th Dhabali, chairman and MD of Babina Group and Prof Y Indibor Singh of Manipur Oncology Society as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Dr Dhabali who has been conferred with the award of 'Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for the year 2020' was also felicitated during today's programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Y Indibor said that the conference is held annually to discuss academic topics and to incorporate modern techniques in order to provide best treatments to cancer patients in the State.
He continued that Manipur Oncology Society is a voluntary organisation working earnestly to help the poor cancer patients of the State who cannot afford the expensive treatments.
The society has also been conducting free health camps in far off districts  of the State for early detection of cancer and to diagnose it accordingly and also provides training to health care givers specialised in cancer to deal with the cancer patients effectively, he added.
