D-FACE organises workshop

The 15 days 'Workshop cum Production on Folk Dance' was concluded today.
The closing ceremony of the workshop organised by the Devishori Foundation for Arts and Cultural Efforts (D-FACE), Langthabal Kunja under the sponsorship of Ministry of Culture was attended by Budha Chingtham, playwright, critic, director and META National Awardee; Dr L Subhadra Devi, assistant professor, Department of Dance and Music, Manipur University and Thongam Thoithoi Devi, renown actor, as presidium members, said a statement issued by D-FACE.
Devishori Yendrembam, secretary, D-FACE gave the welcome address to all concerned and also expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported the programme and the Ministry of Culture for their financial support in making the programme a grand success, added the statement.
2 Manipuri folk dance 'Maibi Laiching Jagoi' and 'Thougal Jagoi' were performed by the artistses of D-FACE and three gurus namely H Inaoba Meetei, former guru, JNMDA; H Indu Devi, SNA Awardee and Bairas Singh, flutist, were honoured by D-FACE at the event.
The training programme was attended by 18 artistes including gurus of the foundation.
