Sensitization programme held

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : A sensitization programme on " Rights of the Persons With Disabilities Act, 2016 for grass root level workers was held today at the campus of Spastic Society of Manipur at Tapokpi  Bazar, Canchipur.
The programme was organised by Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech & Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) Regional Centre-Kolkata under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in association with the Spastic Society of Manipur.
A 2-day free diagnostic & fitment camp for a high-quality hearing aid was also inaugurated during the function.
The inaugural function was graced by Dilip Singh, State Commissioner for PWD; BN Rao Assistant Director, AYJNISHD, RC Kolkata; L Dhaneshwor Singh, Dy Director Social Welfare Department; Anupam Das, Vocational Counsellor & Joint Nodal Officer NE, AYJNISHD; Dr Indra kumar, faculty, National Institute of Labour Economic Research  and Development and Laishram Ricky, secretary Spastic Society of Manipur.
The programme was attended by 62 grassroot level workers and hearing aids were distributed to 250 PWDs.
