IMPHAL, Mar 25 : YPHU, LCCC and YWC (L) secured a win in the second day of the ongoing 5th T Subol Memorial Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament.
In the first match of the day YPHU which opted to bat first and posted a target of 166/9 thumped OSCAR by 72 runs at Oriental College ground.
Ibungobi (63 off 42 balls) and Hemanta (45 off 37 balls) were the top scorers of the winning side.
Bowlers of the YPHU also gave outstanding performances and managed to stop the team chasing the target at 94 runs with 6 wickets down in the stipulated overs.
Ibungobi was declared man of the match.
The 3rd match of the tourney and the 2nd of the day was played between LCCC and NAPSA at Langthabal ground, wherein the former sealed a 6-wicket win over the latter.
NAPSA chose to bat first after winning the toss and posted a target of 123 runs with 7 wickets down.
NAPSA's opener Simon hit the maximum individual runs (41 runs off 33 balls) while LCCC's Ashok dismissed maximum wickets (3 wkts ) in the first innings.
LCCC successfully chased the target in the second innings with just 4 wickets down, thanks to Rakesh (50) and Krishna (51 not out).
Krishna who scored half a century and took 1 wicket was named man of the match.
In the final match of the day at Oriental College ground, YWC (L) overwhelmed Model Club by 50 runs.
YWC batted first in this match and posted a target of 160/4 while Model Club scored only 119 in the chase.
Kumarjit of YWC who scored 77 runs and clinched 3 wickets was declared man of the match.
