BJP celebrates Intl Women's Day

IMPHAL, Mar 8 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  Mahila Morcha, Manipur Pradesh observed International Women's Day at JN Dance Academy, Imphal today.
At the observation, Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh said that celebrating this year's event under the theme  "Women in leadership achieving equal future in a Covid-19 world" signifies the need to empower women.
March 8 is celebrated globally as International's  Women Day recalling the movements which demanded women suffrage, rights and equal pay for women, the Minister reminded.
He also said that the BJP Government had introduced many schemes focusing on women empowerment and is  providing pension to many widows.
BJP Mahila Morcha, Manipur Pradesh president, L Loteeka Leima, former president A Sarda, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president A Nimbus and BJP worker Sh Sheitabhama also took part in the function.
