State lads eyeing Guinness Records

IMPHAL, Mar 8 : Two State lads are eyeing to break the Guinness Records in two events-Most full extension punches in 1 minute and most push-ups (Finger tips) in one minute.
Yambem Gobin, in his attempt today at Aztecs Sports Complex, BT Road, recorded 344 punches in a minute against 334 set by Slovakia's Pavel Trusov over 10 years ago. Thounaojam Niranjoy also exceeded the record set for most push-ups (finger tips) in one minute by UK 's Graham Maly, doing 114 push ups in a minute in his attempt.
Karate India Organisation (KIO) treasurer, Mutum Bankim, KIO Technical Commission, chairman, Thangjam Kirankumar, Aztec Sports Managing Director Thangjam Parmananda, and Inaobi Sapam of Cheinarol Temple Huyen Lalong Thang-Ta  were the jury members witnessing the attempt. Langthabal AC MLA Karam Shyam; WAKO general secretary, S Umakanta, Passport Seva Kendra Imphal, Assistant Passport Officer, Ph Maheshwari and National Boxing Coach Dronacharya Awardee Leishangthem Ibomcha were the dais members of the function.
