IMPHAL, Apr 10: COVID-19 has claimed one more life in the State, taking the death toll to 376.
According to a press release issued by RIMS Deputy Medical Superintendent  Prof N Sanjib, one 59 year old male belonging to Imphal West died at RIMS at around 2.53 pm today. The latest COVID victim was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 active cases in the State has once again crossed 100 after 11 persons including one personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus at JNIMS, RIMS, Babina Diagnostics and Kangpokpi during the last 24 hours.
The 10 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (2), Imphal West (5), Chandel (1), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (1), informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
One COVID-19 positive person was discharged from home isolation during the last 24 hours.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,486 (general population 26,033 and Central security personnel 3,453). It includes 101 active cases (general population 89 and Central security personnel 12) and 29,010 recovered cases (general population 25,573 and Central security personnel 3,437). The death toll has hit 376 while the recovery rate as on Saturday is 98.38 per cent. Air passengers who came to the State on April 8 by Air India flight AI-889 in rows 6-12, April 9 by Indigo flight 6E-2251 in rows 1-7 and Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 1-7 have been instructed to inform the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately. On the other hand, 1200 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Friday. So far, 92,472 people including 31,931 health care workers have been vaccinated against the virus in the State.
