Tbl Super Divn Football League ASSA beat SYDA for four straight wins

IMPHAL, Apr 17 : ASSA, Sangaiyumpham are inching closer to the title of the Lambamayum Memcha Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament as they sealed a 2-1 win against SYDA, Athokpam for the fourth win today.
ASSA, who have beaten YDC (4-0), RPU (2-0) and DUC (6-0) in their earlier fixtures at Kodompoki Sports Complex, conceded a goal in the 20th minute as Hijam Ronald found the target for SYDA but made a brilliant comeback in the second half to finish the game 2-1.
It was Asif Khan who helped ASSA draw level in the 45th minute and set up the recovery path before Babur Khan turned the tide with a beautiful strike at the stroke of the hour mark.
ASSA then held on to their lead and went home 2-1.
They will face WYFC next in the first match on April 19 at 1.30 pm.
The day also saw DUC, Charangpat carve out a 4-2 win against  RPU, Papal for the third win in four matches.
Kh Sagar was unstoppable in this game as he netted thrice including the opening goal (48', 58', 69') for the winning team.
The other goal was scored by M Jolly in the 57th minute after H Lalit had handed RPU the equaliser in the 50th minute.
Trailing behind by three goals, RPU rallied back and earned second goal in the 72nd minute courtesy H Dayanda but they failed to sustain momentum and eventually DUC walked home 4-2.
