23rd 'Dark Day' observed_

IMPHAL, Apr 27: International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) and Justice Committee on Anglo-Manipuri War 1891, Martyrs and Freedom Fighters of Kangleipak jointly observed the 23rd 'Dark Day' (Amamba Numit) at IPSA office at Keishampat today.
The programme was attended by H Ibotombi Khuman, advisor, IPSA; T Birjit, president, IPSA and Joychandra Konthoujam, former president, IPSA as presidium members.
Floral tributes were paid to the brave souls of Manipur who laid down their lives in the war against the British Union in 1891.
IPSA has been observing April 27 as 'Dark Day' in remembrance of the day in which British forces occupied Kangla in 1891 after the war and Union Jack was unfurled in place of the flag of independent kingdom of Manipur.
Similar programme was also organised at IPSA Thoubal branch office which was attended by Samom Raghumani, president, Thoubal Apunba Lup; Bishwajit Akoijam, president, IPSA Thoubal branch and Laimujam Pratap, vice-president, IPSA Thoubal branch as presidium members.
