IMPHAL, Apr 4
Teachers' Association (TA) JNIMS has asserted that  teachers, staff and nurses may tender resignation from JNIMS anytime as they are 'neglected' by the authority.
In a statement, the association reminded that the joint committee of TA, JNIMS, Trained Nurses Association, JNIMS and the Association of All Non-Teaching Staff, JNIMS have been demanding implementation of 7th ROP in JNIMS for quite a long time, but the demand is not yet materialised.
The association further reminded that the three associations withdrew all forms of agitation following an assurance from the Chief Secretary on December 18, 2020 to implement the 7th Pay in JNIMS within 100 days.
As the assurance was not materialised, the Teachers' Association in its GB meeting on March 25, 2021 decided to cancel all academic activities in the institute from March 29 to April 4, 2021, it said adding the three associations jointly sat with the Chief Secretary on the same day (March 25), in which the Chief Secretary assured of putting the issue as one of the Cabinet agenda which was to be held the next day.
It then rued that the matter was not given due consideration by the State cabinet.
