Covid testing at Mao Gate, Jiri

IMPHAL, Apr 6: Covid testing of persons arriving at Mao Gate and Jiribam from high prevalence States will start immediately, said the State Health Department today.
The test on arrival is being taken up to scale up testing in view of rising COVID-19 cases in certain other States of India, said a statement of the Principal Secretary (Health) without identifying the high Covid prevalence States.
Further, the RT PCR testing at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport would cost Rs 500 per test.
Covid testing of persons arriving from identified States has already started. Considering the sustainability of the arrangements, it is decided to collect a charge of Rs 500 per test, said the statement.
To reduce congestion in the arrival hall of the airport, a testing shed shall be constructed in the parking area of the airport, it added.
