IMPHAL, Apr 7 : Samir and Arif scored two goals each to earn KMSWC-Keirak a convincing 5-2 win against DYA-Elangkhangpokpi and remained in hunt for the title of the 18th KK Memorial 1st Division Football League organised by DSA Kakching.
With two of two wins in the final league stage, YWU remain title favourites but their game against AIFA on April 9 will be crucial and decide whether YWU or KMSWC leave with the tournament title.
In today's match, KMSWC had a flying start and entered into the break with a commanding 2-0 lead with Md Samir and Md Arif netting a goal each respectively in the 18th and the 38th minute.
Y Abocha of DYA managed to reduce the margin with a goal in the 47th minute before Md Arif found his second in the 61st minute and made it 3-1.
Md Nusarat then scored KMSWC's fourth in the 67th minute to break DYA's comeback hope into pieces and Md Samir completed his double in the 70th minute to make it 5-1. S Borish scored another for DYA in the 73rd minute and there was no further scoring as KMSWC cruised home 5-2.
