MMWO apologises

Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) apologised to Rafijuddin, s/o Mohd Sikandar of Phoubakchao who was assaulted by president of MMWO during a drive to give awareness on COVID-19 on may 15.
SK Wajid, president of MMWO had assaulted Rafijuddin for not wearing mask on that day. MMWO apologised to everyone concerned and said it was an unfortunate event and assured that such incident will not happen again in the future, said a statement issued by MMWO.
Only when everyone observed COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and follow all the guidelines issued by the Government to curve the spread of the virus, the war against the pandemic can be won and added that the Government alone can not defeat the virus, added the statement.
The Government has been taking up necessary steps including imposition of curfew, vaccination and opening of COVID Care Centre/Community Home Isolation Centres etc. We should all support the initiatives taken up the Government to ensure that the policies and programmes taken up to curb the spread of the virus is successful, added the statement.
MMWO also appealed local CSO, clubs and Meira Paibis to take the initiative in organising Covid awareness programme, and other preventive measures in their own localities.
