Many condemn JNIMS incident

Co-ordinating Body, Khurai has came out strongly against the JNIMS incident where in the corpse of a Covid positive man was found already cremated when the family members came to collect the same.
Stating that the incident as really unfortunate, the Co-ordinating Body, Khurai appealed to all the concerned to see that similar incident is not repeated elsewhere.
The Co-ordinating Body in a statement lauded Dr Th Bhimo for setting up an enquiry committee to investigate the matter to get into the roots of the incident and bring into light the cause for such goof ups.
If timely actions and proper steps were taken in the past, many unwanted incidents could have been avoided which were blown out of proportion and became an issue of the State later on.
Talking about the recent incident of Sanaton Athokpam , a student of RIMS wherein he was found hanging under suspicious circumstances in his hostel room, the Co-ordinating Body said if the RIMS Authority took timely action by setting up an enquiry committee, the matter could have been resolved by finding out the truth.
Further the Co-ordinating Body requested all the officials and administrators of hospitals to carry out their duties earnestly and responsibly to avoid any goof ups and alike.
On the other hand, United People’s Front Manipur (UPF) strongly condemned yesterday’s JNIMS incident.
In a press release UPF termed it as one of the rarest incident and expressed concern that the reports of the deceased could not be traced when checked.
UPF alleged that such goof ups happened due to the irresponsible nature of the officials of the Health Department.
UPF also demanded that appropriate actions should be taken at the earliest against those involved in yesterday’s incident and appealed to all the departments concerned to make sure that similar incidents do not occur in future.
