'Asian Highway Affected Committee' warns of intensified agitation

Moreh , Jun 11: The Indo Myanmar Asian Highway Affected Committee Chandel and Tengnoupal District warned of intensified agitation, if the Deputy Commissioner Tengnoupal doesn't comply with the RTI request of the committee by June 18.
The committee alleged that the DC Chandel and Tengnoupal have ignored the RTI request submitted by the committee on February 4, over compensation of the affected people from Thamnapokpi to Moreh.
 The committee also mentioned that no response has been given by the Government or the concerned authority till date to the RTI request.
Meanwhile, in response to the request made by the DC, Naorem Praveen to the committee on June 9, the committee convened a meeting yesterday and resolved to not disturb the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation ongoing works for a couple of days.
The meeting also resolved to intensify their agitation if the Deputy Commissioner failed to comply with the RTI request before June 18.
