KANGPOKPI, Jun 15: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot in an unfortunate road mishap this afternoon along the National Highway 2 stretch between Saparmeina and Motbung under Gamnom Saparmeina Police Station, reports our correspondent.
The accident happened when a scooter (TVS Ntorq) rider heading towards Kangpokpi was hit by a loaded truck coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased has been identified as Amar Tamang, son of Krishna Tamang of Gopibung Nepali under Champhai sub-division in Kangpokpi District.
It is learnt that Gamnom-Saparmeina police have detained the truck and the driver.
