CM condoles

IMPHAL, Jun 8 : Chief Minister N Biren Singh has condoled the demise of Paokai Haokip, former Member of Parliament on June 6 last.
The CM, in his condolence message, said that he is deeply aggrieved to learn about the sad and untimely demise of Paokai Haokip, who was elected to Lok Sabha for two terms in 1967 and 1971 from Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
The CM conveyed his deepest condolence and shared grief with the bereaved family.
The Chief Minister also condoled the demise of ex-MLA of Karong AC Henry Paotei.
Born on March 1, 1960, at Purul Atongba village of Senapati district, Henry Paotei was a committed leader who had served the people in different capacities, reads a message of the CM.
Stating that Henry Paotei began his career as a student leader in the late 1970s after serving as a Headmaster in a Government School briefly, the CM  maintained that the deceased also served as president of JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO, Senapati branch from 1987 to 1990.
After resigning from Government service in 1994, Henry launched his own newspaper. "The Hills Time and worked as an Editor from 1997 to  2001,  N Biren said and added Henry joined politics in 1995 and was elected to Manipur Legislative Assembly from Karong AC in 2002.
Saying that Manipur has lost a true and able leader in his demise, the CM offered condolence to the bereaved family.
May his soul rest in peace, the message read.
