IMPHAL, Jul 1 : Seva Bharati Imphal has established an 'Oxygen Bank' to cater to the needs of people in home isolation free of cost.
The non-Governmental organisation (NGO) had brought and distributed 45 Oxygen Concentrators, hundreds of IR Thermometer, oxymeters to various health centres and hospitals across Manipur earlier.
It is learnt the 'Oxygen Bank' has been established with the arrival of 40 more Oxygen Concentrators contributed by a Canadian social group called Oxygen Langar.
Retd Lt General L Nishikanta, volunteer coordinator of Seva Bharati Imphal facilitated in bringing the oxygen concentrators as he approached Oxygen Langar, Canada through Sewa Canada to supplement the efforts of the Central and the State Government in fighting against Covid.
According to a statement of the NGO, oxygen concentrators, IR thermometers, oximeters have been distributed to healthcare facilities in Yairipok, Maram, Loktak Project, Hiyang Lam, Thoubal, Karang Island, Thanga, Imphal East, CMC Hospital, Noney, Yarbung, Oinam, Vaichung etc.
Oxygen concentrators ranging from 1 to 3 have been distributed to health centres depending on its size, the statement said.
Those in home isolation and in need of oxygen can contact Retd Lt General L Nishikanta or Seva Bharati Imphal to avail oxygen concentrator, it said.
Seva Bharati Imphal also thanked Oxygen Langar and Sewa Canada for their generous help and expressed hope for similar support in future.
