Forum for Child Care Institutions-NGOs Guild Manipur (FCNGM) appealed to the State Government and authorities concerned to release the pending funds of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) before July 20.
In a press release, FCNGM said that the implementing officers and NGOs managing Child Care Institutions (CCIs) have been working earnestly for the welfare of juveniles in the State day and night.
However these individuals and the juveniles are going through a rough phase amid the grim situation of COVID-19 pandemic since the funds for ICPS, a centrally sponsored scheme aimed at building a protective environment for children in difficult circumstances, as well as other vulnerable children, through Government-Civil Society Partnership have not been released in full by the State Government.
The Forum stated that the State Government has released the fund for only six months for full and final instalment 2020-2021 in Feb 2021 and for the remaining six months are still pending and above this, the State Govt has kept the funds for 3 months for 2021-22 financial year on hold which have been already released by the Ministry.
Therefore the Forum urged the Chief Minister to look into the matter and release the pending funds considering the plights of the individuals concerned during this difficult time of the pandemic.
Further the Forum for CCIs-NGOs Guild Manipur (FCNGM) also appealed to the Government to work out special measures to provide free rice as per the various schemes of the Govt to juveniles staying in Child Care Institutions.
