Police clarifies

IMPHAL, Jul 15 : The Police Department has clarified that the letter issued by SP CID (CB), Manipur dated July 13, 2021 for strict implementation of existing animal welfare laws is directed against any particular community or religion.
A press release signed by PRO of the Police Department, K Meghachandra Singh said that the  laws aim at preventing cruelty to animals in general and ensure food safety standards for human consumption are maintained.
He then appealed to the public not to misinterpret and spread misinformation in this regard.
