State Govt presents cash award to YADA for its relentless support on 'War on Drugs'

IMPHAL, Jul 20: Youth Athletic Development Association YADA, Kshetrigao has been presented with a cash award of Rs 50,000 (Rupees fifty thousand) acknowledging its relentless activities against drug abuse.
The award has been presented as a part of 'War on Drugs' campaign by the State Government and the amount was handed over to the MLA of Kshetrigao AC, Nahakpam Indrajit to be given to YADA.
The cash award was handed over to general secretary of YADA, Aribam Azid by the MLA during a tablet distribution programme held at Ima Nongpok Panthoibi Sanglen at Kongba Nongthombam Leikai today in the presence of DC of Imphal East, Kh Diana and CMO of Imphal East, Dr L Indira.
Speaking on the occasion, Aribam Azid said that with continuous support from Nahakpam Indrajit, many strict measures have been taken to curb the issue of drug abuse in Kshetrigao AC and many illegal contraband items have been seized.
Drive against drug abuse have been conducted in association with Manipur Police and officials of Narcotic cell, he added.
He also extended gratitude to the MLA N Indrajit and Chief Minister for motivating YADA and its activities against drug abuse.
