IMPHAL, Jul 20 : Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has greeted the people of Manipur, especially Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Zuha.
In her greetings, the Governor said that this Holy festival is celebrated with dedication and enthusiasm throughout the world.
Saying that Eid commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience towards God, Dr Najma continued that the festival signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self interest for the larger good of all.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, while extending his wishes to the people on the occasion, appealed to the Muslim brethren to restrict the celebration by performing rituals and prayers within the confines of their homes and observing the Covid appropriate behaviour.
May the festival bring prosperity to the State, the CM prayed.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand Singh, Deputy Speaker K Robindro Singh, Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh, Agriculture Minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh and CAF & PD Minister Th Satyabrata Singh too wished the people a 'Happy Eid-Ul-Zuha.'
