HERICOUN condoles

Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) expressed grief on the sudden demise of Angom Lonja Alepa @ Naresh Meetei, founder secretary general of Lainingthou Sanamahee Sana Pung (LSSP).
HERICOUN in a press release recalled Angom Lonja Alepa as young and enthusiastic individual who  strove earnestly for the upliftment of  indigenous 'Sanamahee Laining' in the State.
From a very young age, he was enlightened about Sanamahee Laining from his parents and ever since he worked relentlessly for the progress and development of this particular faith.
He traced the roots and gained knowledge about Sanamahi Laining from the learned elders and even researched about it in the religious places inside Kangla.
He also conducted Yakaipung programme on every Sunday extensively in the State to sensitize the people about Sanamahi Laining and also worked continuously to bring the Meitei diaspora under this particular realm, added the press release.
HERICOUN stated that his demise will leave an irreparable void in Manipuri society and also prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace and also extended their condolences the bereaved family.
