In line with the celebration of 75 years of India's Independence and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 was organised at various places of the State.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal in collaboration with District Administration Kakching today carried out a Fit India Freedom Run in which over 75 youths of Kakching Runners, Keirak, Youth Volunteers Association (YVA) Pallel and NYK volunteers of Kakching district took part.
The rally was flagged off from the DC Office Complex by Abujam Romen Singh, SDO Waikhong on behalf of District Administration.
The aims and objectives of the Fit India Freedom Run was explained by Michael T Mate, District Youth Officer, NYK Thoubal. He also led a Fit India Freedom Run Pledge with the gathering.
K Gitchandra Singh, SDPO Kakching also attended the programme on behalf of SP Kakching and oversaw the modalities of the Freedom Run.
The Fit India Freedom Run started from DC Office Complex Kakching, continued on Highway-137 A, went through Kakching Bazaar, touching a few leikais and culminated back at Irabot Park, Kakching Bazaar.
The celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was conceptualized on March 12 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the pillar of Action and Resolve @75.
Similarly, 182 Battalion Border Security Force, Koirengei under the aegis of Sector Headquarter BSF Counter Insurgency (Ops) Manipur also observed Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 on August 27.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Awadhesh Kumar, Officiating Commandant of 182 Bn to commemorate the 75 years of India's Independence.
The run was participated by all the officers and troops of 182 Bn BSF, Koirengei.
