IMPHAL, Sep 12 : A reception ceremony of the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) Professor N Rajmuhan was held today at the Naorem Sanajaoba Public Library, Canchipur.
The function jointly organized by National Research Centre (NRC), Manipur and OSMT was attended by AMUCO advisor Ito Tongbram, NRC president Dr Naorem Jibit Meitei and VC Professor N Rajmuhan as the chief guest, president and special guest respectively.
Speaking at the function GP Women College, Imphal’s Assistant Professor Dr W Romesh described Professor Rajmuhan as an academician and a social activist who deserves to hold the post of VC in a university.
He said that the new VC has been making tremendous contributions to the society through academic activities including several research projects, writing research papers, newspaper articles and books.
W Romesh added that the newly appointed VC of DMU had also participated in a number of radio talks besides visiting several countries for academic purposes.
Highlighting the problems and inconveniences prevailing in the academic atmosphere of Manipur, he expressed his desire for adequate inclusion of topics and papers about Manipur in Geography, history and other subjects.
Dr W Romesh also underscored the importance of setting up more academic centres in university and academic activities in the State.
