IMPHAL, Sep 12
Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has urged all concerned to refrain from violating the norms of admission process for PhD, Master's and Under Graduate degree courses at Manipur University.
DESAM in a press release expressed concerned that the student body had received many complaints for malpractices in the admission process of Manipur University by some higher officials of the Government and individuals with vested interests. Citing an example, DESAM said that it has been found that the admission process for PhD course in Political Science Department was delayed for few months due to the interference of an MCS officer who was trying to admit a candidate against the set norms.
The student body appealed to all concerned to refrain from resorting to such demeaning behaviour misusing the power conferred upon them. And further stated that the particular candidate should not be granted admission for this academic session at any cost and those individuals concerned are being cautioned not to impose any form of threat or fear to the teachers for the same.
Stating that a university forms the strong foundation pillars of a developed society, DESAM earnestly appealed to all not to disturb the proceedings and peaceful academic environment of Manipur University for the welfare of the society.
